2,000 Velocity points when you link your DoorDash and Velocity accounts and place an eligible order

Earn 2,000 bonus Velocity points when you link your Velocity Frequent Flyer account to the DoorDash app or website and place an eligible order. Plus, you can also earn an ongoing 1x Velocity point per dollar spent.

An eligible order is defined in the terms and conditions as:

a purchase transaction (for delivery or pickup) made by a Velocity Member through the DoorDash app or www.doordash.com within Australia, other than Excluded Transactions. Velocity Points can be earned on the purchase transaction subtotal (incl. applicable fees, taxes, additional charges and delivery fees) after any other promotions or discounts have been applied. If a Gift Card is used as a payment method, Velocity Points will not be earned on the portion of the transaction paid for using the Gift Card.

Unfortunately, this excludes you from earning points on any portion of your order paid for using a DoorDash gift card. That’s a problem as there are lots of great discounts available on DoorDash gift cards.

For example, Woolworths and Coles sometimes offer 20x points on DoorDash gift cards and services like ShopBack and Cashrewards frequently run 10% cashback promotions on them. Costco members can even buy them for 20% off at any time.

For that reason, I wouldn’t recommend worrying about the ongoing 1x point per dollar spent. Take the 2,000 bonus points for your first qualifying order and then use discounted gift cards to pay for all subsequent orders you make.

Our sister website GCDB (Gift Card Database) is worth checking out or following on Facebook or Instagram if you want to be alerted to upcoming deals on DoorDash gift cards.
