Earn up to 1,000 bonus points when you convert your Flybuys points to Velocity points. The bonus you earn depends on the type of transfer you make:
- 250 Flybuys and 250 Velocity points on your next manual transfer
- 500 Flybuys and 500 Velocity points on your first ever Auto Transfer
To be eligible for the larger bonus of 500 Flybuys and 500 Velocity points, you cannot have ever used the Auto Transfer feature before.
The manual transfer offer, on the other hand, is open to all members regardless of whether you have previously manually transferred points. There’s no need to convert more than 1,000 Flybuys points unless you urgently need to book a reward flight.
Even if you are eligible for the Auto Transfer bonus, you should still only perform a manual transfer because they sometimes run much better offers where you can earn bonus 15% points for your first ever Auto Transfer.
If you use Auto Transfer for the first time just to receive a few hundred more Flybuys and Velocity points, you’re potentially missing out on tens of thousands of bonus points that you might earn from a future bonus 15% transfer offer.
Terms and conditions
Between 12.00am AEDT on Mon 3 Nov 2025 and 11.59 pm AEDT on Sat 31 Jan 2026 (Promotion Period), Flybuys and Velocity Frequent Flyer Members who link their Velocity Frequent Flyer membership to their Flybuys account will receive one of the two offers below, which will be credited on the first eligible transfer the member successfully completes during the Promotion Period:
- Members will receive bonus 250 bonus Flybuys points and 250 bonus Velocity Points if they choose to complete a Manual Transfer of a minimum 1,000 Flybuys points to 500 Velocity Points as their first Velocity transfer within the Promotion Period (this does not need to be their first ever Velocity Manual Transfer). If a member completes a Manual Transfer first during the Promotion Period, they will not be eligible to receive the Auto Transfer bonus points offer. Members who have previously completed a Manual Transfer from their Flybuys to Velocity Account prior to the Promotion Period are still eligible for the Manual Transfer offer; or
- Members will receive 500 bonus Flybuys points and bonus 500 Velocity Points if they turn on Auto Transfer and complete their first ever Auto Transfer of a minimum 1,000 Flybuys points to 500 Velocity Points during the Promotion Period. Members must remain opted into Auto Transfer until the end of the Promotion Period to be eligible for this offer. Members who have opted into the Auto Transfer functionality prior to the Promotion Period but have never completed an Auto Transfer are eligible for this Auto Transfer offer. This offer is not available to members who have previously completed an Auto Transfer prior to the Promotion Period. If a member completes an eligible Auto Transfer first during the Promotion Period, they will not be eligible to receive the Manual Transfer bonus points offer.
Members are only eligible to receive one bonus points offer during the Promotion Period which will be the first eligible transfer that the member completes during the Promotion Period.
Your Flybuys account and Velocity account must remain linked until the end of the Promotion Period to be eligible to receive this offer. This bonus points offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer.
The Terms and Conditions governing the transfer of Flybuys points to Velocity points is outlined below. Velocity Frequent Flyer Points will be credited to the linked Velocity account. Flybuys points will be credited to the linked Flybuys account. Bonus points will be credited as outlined below:
- Any qualifying transfer made from Mon 3 Nov 2025 to Sun 30 Nov 2025 will receive Flybuys & Velocity bonus points by Fri 19 Dec 2025.
- Any qualifying transfer made from Mon 1 Dec 2025 to Wed 31 Dec 2025 will receive Flybuys & Velocity bonus points by Wed 28 Jan 2026.
- Any qualifying transfer made from Thurs 1 Jan 2026 to Sat 31 Jan 2026 will receive Flybuys & Velocity bonus points by Fri 27 Feb 2026.
Once Flybuys points have been redeemed for Velocity Points, they cannot be returned to your Flybuys account, and they will be governed by the Velocity membership terms and conditions. When do you think the big 15% transfer will come through again?
It’s hard to say but with this promotion not set to end until 31 Jan I probably wouldn’t expect anything before then at the earliest.
How do you manually transfer?
Go to the Redeem tab in the Flybuys app, select Velocity Points and then follow the steps to transfer 1,000 Flybuys points. You can also do it on the Flybuys website.
