Earn 2,000 bonus Velocity points for each international hotel booking you make through the Hopper Hotels page on the Virgin Australia website by 15 Aug 2025 for travel until 14 Dec 2025.
The 2,000 points are in addition to the standard 3x points per dollar spent and there is no limit on the number of times you can receive the bonus. The points will be awarded within one week of hotel check out.
Whilst no minimum spend is specified, the terms and conditions state that the points will not be credited on “bookings where stay is not completed”. If that means you actually have to check in to earn the bonus then you won’t be able to book a bunch of dirt cheap stays in South East Asia like with last year’s Qantas Hotels offer.
However, if you’re willing to gamble that the points might still be awarded even if you don’t check in then it would be smart to book your first stay for tonight and then the rest for at least a few weeks later so that you can cancel them if the points for the first one don’t arrive (just make sure they’re refundable).
If you did that with a cheap place like this grim $5/night hotel in Indonesia, that should mean you’re only risking a few dollars to potentially earn thousands of Velocity points.

An eligible international hotel booking is one that is made during the Offer Period via Hopper for a hotel located in any country other than Australia and is for travel between 4 August 2025 and 14 December 2025 (inclusive). An eligible international hotel booking excludes bookings made with Redeem Points or Points + Pay. Velocity Points are not earned on full redemption bookings. For “Points + Pay” bookings, only the standard earn rate will be earned on any “+ Pay” component. Points will not be awarded for additional or incidental hotel costs (such as in- room charges, early check-in, late check-out and upgrades), cancelled bookings or bookings where stay is not completed. Velocity members must submit their valid Velocity membership number at the time of booking to be eligible to earn Velocity Points. Only one Velocity member per booking is eligible to earn Velocity Points.
Points are awarded after check-out and are credited to your account within 1 week after check-out.

The terms do not mention a limit, only that you can earn the points on “each” qualifying booking.
Anyone gambled and received points for non check ins?
I booked one night stay for $4.13 between 6-7 August, hopefully the points will come through by Friday or Monday next week.

I booked some $5 hotels yesterday but the cheapest I can see now are around $16. Is anyone still seeing $5 properties or have they maybe closed off the ability to book the really cheap places while the promo is on? 🙁

you need to actually stay at the hotel though, gross. They have a no-show policy where you don’t get the points, I have had that happen before where I booked but didn’t get the points as I missed my flight and I chased them and they said it was in the fine print
This is what I was thinking. I can make a stack of $5 reservations and cut my losses worse case but would be great to know if it’ll actually work.

I believe that the Virgin hosted version of the hopper.com website has price restrictions. The hopper.com website clearly shows the cheap hotels at $6 still being available to book, the same hotel and same dates are not available on the Virgin hosted site. Games up team!

At a cost of 0.8 cents per point it’s still good value but in this case there’s an elevated risk of them being clawed back so it’s harder to justify.
Points just came through for my first booking. I booked 4 before the cheapy hotels disappeared so will be interesting to see if they come through!
The points for my booking from the 5th to 6th have already posted so only a day later. Tempted to push through a bunch of new bookings but also worrying that some are having the points reversed!
Seems now the offer has been stopped a week ahead of the planned end date.
Thanks to all the people trying to game the system, people who genuinely wanted to book a hotel will not the get the benefit of the offer.
