Update 31 Jul: Qantas have changed the terms and conditions so you are now required to spend AU$100 per booking to be eligible for the bonus points, effective from 1 Aug 2024. No-show bookings are also now excluded.
Earn 5,000 bonus Qantas points on any international Qantas Hotels or Qantas Holidays booking made by 5 Aug 2024 for travel until 5 Aug 2025.
Originally, this offer had no minimum spend but they changed the terms so that from 1 Aug onwards you are now required to spend AU$100 per booking. You can still earn the 5,000 bonus points on each of your first three eligible bookings.
As the new terms and conditions don’t begin until 1 Aug, it’s unclear whether that means the old terms and conditions are still in effect for bookings made on the night of 31 Jul.
The 5,000 bonus points are in addition to the standard points that you earn from booking hotels and holidays through Qantas. All points are credited within six weeks of checkout.
Note that Airbnb, Qantas Entertainment and Qantas Tours bookings are all excluded from this offer. Also, if you have to amend your booking in future you will no longer be eligible for the 5,000 points.
What are 5,000 Qantas points worth?
It depends how you choose to redeem them:

For non-Australian passport holders, does booking a hotel in Australia count as “international Qantas Hotels”?XD
Definitely not, lol
Can we just book the absolute cheapest accomodation (with no intention of staying)? I’ve found some hotels (hostels) that are as little as $6AUD
Nah it says “Points will be credited within 6 weeks of hotel check-out.”
As long as you pay, you might get marked as checked in/out.
Wonder if they will take action vs such obvious points abuse though?
Great question – any idea on the answer. Might try and find the t&cs
Yes
I did same with Business Rewards promotion. 1 night hostel in Bangkok Jakarta wherever
Thanks for the brilliant idea!
3 booking made. Total cost $11.50. Fingers crossed.
Can you book for husband and kids too under separate bookings with different qantas frequent flyer numbers? Could earn 60,000 points this way.
$11.50 for 3 nights accommodation? Wow!
Bali 😉
which property please?
It does not insist you stay…
Except that points are only awarded once you check-out… so one would assume that is after you check-in.
terms and condition changed- now you must spend $100 per booking I believe
If 2 nights, can you make 2 bookings for each night n get 2x 5000 points? 😊
Any idea whether the $100 is before or after Points Club voucher applied? I assume before as the voucher is a method of payment … ?
If you want to be 100% sure then I’d recommend asking Qantas Hotels directly. That said, I can’t see anything in the terms suggesting that the minimum spend is after any vouchers or discounts have been applied so I suspect you would be fine.
