2,000 Flybuys points on Mastercard gift cards at Coles

Flybuys

Earn 2,000 bonus Flybuys points on $100 and $250 Coles Mastercard gift cards at Coles.

These gift card can be spent almost anywhere Mastercard is accepted. They even work when paying the ATO by phone (but not online).

If you bought five of the $100 cards, you would collect a total of 10,525 Flybuys points (equal to $52.63 or 5,000+ Velocity points) for only $25 in purchase fees.

Here are the details:

  • Runs from Wed 11 Nov to Tue 17 Nov 2026
  • Only available in-store at Coles
  • Limit of five gift cards per Flybuys account
  • $5 fee on $100 card, $7 fee on $250 card
  • This offer is open to everyone and does not require activation
  • Points usually credit in 1-3 days

How it works

To earn the 2,000 bonus points, all you have to do is scan a Flybuys card when purchasing the $100 and $250 Mastercard gift cards in-store at Coles between 11 Nov and 17 Nov 2026.

The day after your purchase you’ll receive the standard 1x point per dollar spent at around 5-6pm. You may also receive the 2,000 bonus points at the same time but it’s very common for them to lag behind by a few extra days.

The purchase limit for this offer is five gift cards per Flybuys account. That’s five in total, not five per day or five of each Mastercard gift card denomination.

As always, you won’t find this offer advertised in the Flybuys app, only in the Coles catalogue and on in-store posters. No activation is required and all Flybuys members are eligible to earn the bonus points.

Both the $100 and $250 Mastercard denominations earn the same 2,000 bonus points so the $100 cards are the better option for most people. However, that also means they are more likely to sell out first.

To spend the Mastercard in-store, swipe it, select Credit if prompted and if you’re asked for a PIN, just enter any four digit number (e.g. 0000) to make that your card’s PIN.

Whilst these gift cards can be used almost anywhere, they tend to work more reliably in-store as online merchants have a habit of blocking prepaid cards.

At the time of writing, it’s still possible to pay the ATO with these gift cards but only by phone. They stopped working on the ATO and Government EasyPay websites almost a year ago.

Gift card tampering

Coles Mastercard gift cards have a high risk of being tampered with so you should always open them up after you scan them at the checkout but before you pay so that you can check for signs of tampering.

It’s recommended that you pay for each gift card in a separate purchase so that it’s easier to void the transactions for the ones that show evidence of tampering.

Also, you should aim to spend these Mastercard sooner rather than later and avoid giving them as gifts as the longer they sit idle, the higher the chance of a BIN attack (this is where scammers brute force card number combinations until they find working ones).
