The 10,000 points are in addition to any bonus points that may be included with the particular card you sign up for. If your chosen card includes 90,000 points, for example, this offer would allow you to earn 100,000.
You’re only eligible for the extra 10,000 points if you haven’t received any points from a Qantas points earning credit card within the past 24 months. If you’re unsure, try to register for the offer and it’ll confirm your eligibility.
Once you’ve activated the offer, you must apply and be approved for one of the cards listed on qantas.com/cards and make a purchase within 30 days. Your 10,000 points should then arrive within twelve weeks.
Each member can only earn the bonus once. American Express Qantas Corporate, Qantas Money Platinum and Qantas Business Rewards cards are all excluded.
It’s worth mentioning that the last three first card bonuses that Qantas ran were all for 20,000 points so this one is a bit of a downgrade.

**First-time cardholder 10,000 extra Qantas Points offer: 10,000 extra Qantas Points are available to new Qantas Points earning credit or charge cardholders (over 18 years) who have not earned points on a Qantas Points earning credit card within the 24 months prior to activation of the offer. Qantas Points earned from the member’s first purchase must be credited to their Qantas Frequent Flyer account by 30 June 2026.
