Whilst this offer earns you the same amount of Qantas points as the frequent Apple gift card promotions at Woolworths and Big W (20x Everyday Rewards points = 10x Qantas points), the advantage here is that you can buy online and there aren’t any purchase limits.
Also, if you pay using a card that earns extra points for Qantas spending you’ll collect those points as well. Even the Qantas Pay prepaid card that’s available to anyone earns 1.25x Qantas points per dollar on Qantas Marketplace.
Qantas Marketplace usually credit the points to your account within 1-2 days of your purchase, although in some cases they arrive a lot sooner than that.
Just make sure you move the slider all the way over so that you are paying exclusively with cash. Using your points to pay for these gift cards would be a terrible waste – even with the current 20% discount.
