Earn up to 35,000 Velocity points when you switch your electricity and gas to AGL by 30 Jun 2026 as a new or moving customer:
- 20,000 points for electricity
- 10,000 points for gas
- 30,000 points for electricity and gas
That is double the signup points of their standard offer. You’ll receive them within just 45 days of energy supply commencing at your address.
Both electricity and gas are available in New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland and South Australia whilst customers in Western Australia can only access gas through AGL.
On top of the initial bonus points, you can earn up to 5,000 more Velocity points if you remain for twelve months:
- 2,500 points for electricity
- 2,500 points for gas
- 5,000 points for electricity and gas
However, make sure you compare prices before committing to AGL for such a long period as you might be better off switching to another provider.
If you’re an existing AGL customer and want to switch to the Velocity plan, you can do so but you’ll only receive 3,000-6,000 points.
What are 30,000 Velocity points worth?
It depends how you redeem them:

The Terms don’t mention but wanted to double check if a returning agl customer is eligible. I.e was with AGL in Decmeber 2025 last year and received the double bonus and then changed to another provider so haven’t been with AGL since. Confirming as sometimes the offer wants customers to not have had AGL for the last 12 months.
I believe this is the relevant line in the terms and conditions:
Of course, if in doubt you can always ask AGL to confirm your eligibility.
Hi- our house electricity is under my husband name at the moment and we have AGL,
He signed up more than a year ago with $250 cash bonus.
I would like to sign up but being the same address, would i be eligible for the bonus? Please advise
I can’t see why you wouldn’t be eligible but if you’re not completely confident then it’s always good to get AGL to confirm it over live chat so you have proof if something goes wrong.
Thank you so much!
