Earn up to 35,000 Velocity points when you switch your electricity and gas to AGL by 12 Oct 2026:
- 20,000 points for electricity
- 10,000 points for gas
- 30,000 points for electricity and gas
This is double their standard offer of 5,000-15,000 points. You’ll receive the points within 45 days of each energy supply commencing (usually closer to 30 days).
You can only earn the bonus points once per address in any twelve month period. Also, you can only sign up for a maximum of two supply addresses.
Electricity and gas are available in New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland and South Australia but in Western Australia AGL only sell gas plans.
There is a small additional bonus of 2,500-5,000 Velocity points that you qualify for after a year but this isn’t worth worrying about. Once you receive the initial bonus, switch to whichever energy provider has the best offer at the time.
If you’re thinking of switching to AGL, it’s better to do so sooner rather than leaving it until the final days of the offer because it can actually take them several weeks to connect your services.
When I took advantage of their last bonus, they tried to avoid crediting me the the full number points because the connection dates were after it had ended. However, after submitting a complaint they finally acknowledged their mistake and awarded the missing points.

I think it’s important to point out that the lower rates from glo bird and others are substantially below AGL and origin so the points are not free

Get a one-off $150 (GST incl.) credit per fuel (electricity and gas) on your first bill, when you switch your home energy to AGL from another supplier or move your home energy with AGL online
that would make it a rather appealing offer if so.
The full terms and condition is a bad a copy paste job with the eligibility saying the offer ended 30 June 2026.
