The two complimentary StayPlus nights are basically ‘buy one night, get one night free’ vouchers as each one must be booked alongside one paid night (or sometimes two). This perk alone can justify the cost of your membership depending on when and where you redeem the two nights.
However, it’s worth keeping in mind that the StayPlus nights can sometimes be challenging to use as they’re subject to availability. If you have a particular hotel and travel dates in mind, ask ALL Accor+ over live chat to check if it’s eligible for a StayPlus night before you sign up.

Another benefit is that you’ll be upgraded to Accor Gold status at minimum thanks to the 30 bonus Status Nights. Gold status unlocks perks such as early check-in and complimentary room upgrades (subject to availability).
With the 2,000 ALL Reward points and 8% cashback, you’re effectively paying around ~$260 for a year of ALL Accor+ membership so it should only take a few trips to get more out of the programme than you put in.

Would 2 nights July 7-9 at The Olsen in Melbourne work for this?
The Olsen falls under the Art Series brand and those hotels require you to book three consecutive nights (two paid and one StayPlus). If you did 7-10 July it should work but if you weren’t already considering an extra night then there’s not much point.

With how complicated it is: having to put in SO much research into understanding which hotels are included and their conditions, finding an available stay plus night, limited scope to Asia-Pacific + UAE and even more limited and restricted dining t&cs, I really can’t see how the cost is worth the particularly hard to obtain benefits.

You’re not entirely wrong. ALL Accor+ is a lot like using frequent flyer points: you have to know what you’re doing and put a bit of work in to get the most out of it.
I had terrible exp with A+. 1st year booked and the hotel closed down permanantly before staying; 2nd year booked and the hotel left accor group… customer service is useless
With the complimentary StayPlus nights (being buy 1 get 1), can you stay 4 consecutive nights and use the benefit: i.e. 4 night stay but only pay for 2 nights, or would it have to be 2 x 2 night stays to maximise the benefit?
Found the answer myself after digging through their website – the answer is no and you cant maximise the benefit by booking 2x2night stays:
Can I use multiple Stay Plus FREE Nights for a stay?
No, unfortunately, you can’t. Only one Stay Plus FREE Night can be used for each stay.
A stay is considered to be consecutive nights at the same hotel.
This applies even if you make separate bookings. If both bookings include Stay Plus FREE Nights and are for consecutive nights, the second booking won’t be eligible. You’ll need to pay the ALL Accor+ Explorer rate for each night of the second booking.
