How it works
Purchase Apple gift cards in-store at Coles between 5 Nov and 11 Nov 2025 and scan your Flybuys card at the checkout to earn 20x points per dollar spent.
You won’t know that you’ve earned the points until they credit to your account. At minimum this usually occurs the day after your purchase at around 5pm but sometimes the bonus points can lag behind the standard points by a day or two.
This promotion is open to all Flybuys members automatically so you don’t need to activate anything. You won’t see the offer advertised in your Flybuys app but that’s because they generally only announce them via the Coles catalogue and in-store posters.
There’s a daily purchase limit of five gift cards, meaning you could earn as much as 50,000 Flybuys points each day if you bought five of the $20-500 variable Apple gift cards each loaded with $500.
You can purchase Apple devices online using your account balance (loaded with up to $4,999 worth of gift cards) plus another eight unredeemed gift cards on top. See the Apple gift card guide on GCDB for more information about how to use them.
Before spending your Apple gift cards, make sure you check to see if another retailer (e.g. Amazon, JB Hi-Fi etc) has a cheaper price as Apple will price match up to a maximum of 10% off if you call them on 133-622 and you can still pay using gift cards.

What is the best way to get max points for buying the new iPhone? Using this Apple GC offer or wait for office works GC and use one pass?
For Officeworks you would need an offer on Ultimate or Celebration gift cards which aren’t terribly common and they don’t usually include large denominations so they’re a lot less convenient. I don’t think it would be worth waiting just to potentially earn an extra 5x points.
I can’t see this offer in the shops today.
Not all stores put the posters up, especially on the first morning of the offer. The important thing is that it’s advertised in the catalogue.
so even if the store doesnt show up the event, i can still purchase the card in that store and get the 20x points right?
Correct. Some stores are just lazy with the posters.
I purchased 5 gift cards worth $2200 yesterday. 24hrs later only 2.200pts credited to my Flybuys account. Do the bonus points come later? Is it how it usually works or am I missing something? Cheers

Same here. I bought $2000 gift card yesterday and got 2000points today. Im also waiting for the bonus points coming soon.
Normally the bonus points are allocated next day with FB/Apple gift cards but it’s taking longer this time around. Seems to be a common thing though judging by the other comments.

No reason to be concerned. With past Coles promotions I’ve seen a number of cases where those who bought before the weekend didn’t get their bonus points until the following week.
Always need to wait, sometimes until Tue.

At least with the Woolies deal, the points show in your everyday rewards app straight away and often appear in your Qantas account within the hour. Not sure why Coles/flybuys can’t do the same in 2025…

They’ll credit it. If it’s not automatic and they need to do it manually, they will. Not saying that’s OK, but there’s nothing to worry about.

I haven’t got mine as well. This happens all the time with Flybuys / coles . Never with Woolies. It can take 2-4 weeks

Can someone please advise if they got the bonus points I bought the Apple gift cards on 7th November and today is 17th November and so far I have not received my bonus points . So should I be calling them or anyone has already called them and got any sort of response or information
Everyone is in the same boat. As annoying as it is, I’d just wait for Flybuys to sort it out.
Spoke to their customer service today who confirmed there is an issue that they are trying to fix but the upper management has not given any sort of a TAT that they could share. Spoke to a supervisor who also sounded like they’ve been strictly instructed not to talk much about the issue with customers and just continue giving vague

I purchased $9,500 of these cards on the first day and have received zero of the promotional points. I have to use them to book a flight by this Sunday and now getting super worried as I have neither cash nor the points.

The article says that the points are usually credited in 1-3 days because that is the case 95% of the time. I have no say over how these promotions are actually run.
Did you purchase them all with the one Flybuys account? Because the limit was five gift cards per day.
In any case, your best course of action is to keep pestering Flybuys. Whilst it’s ridiculous that it’s already gone on this long, at some point they will have to do something.
I was able to get the bonus points after speaking to the right people and can now book my flights. They said they will fix it for everyone
