To be eligible to earn triple points, you have to book by 8 Dec 2025 for travel between 15 Jan 2026 and 31 May 2026. The points will be credited within a week of check out.
If you happen to hold Velocity Platinum Plus status, you’ll still earn your additional 4.5x points for a total of 13.5x points per dollar spent.
These offers can be a great way to earn thousands of Velocity points on hotels you were already going to book but make sure you compare prices with other sites because they are known to vary by a quite a lot.
Also, it’s worth keeping an eye on all the cashback offers that are available for other hotel websites because you can often earn back 10-15% of what you spend on your bookings.
Terms and conditions
During the promotional period of 12:01AM AEDT on 26 November 2025 to 11:59PM AEDT on 8 December 2025 (Offer Period), Velocity members will earn Velocity Points per $1 spent on eligible hotel bookings with Hopper Hotels at https://www.virginaustralia.com/au-en/hotels with a base point earn rate of 9 Velocity Points per $1 of eligible spend. This means that a Velocity member may be eligible to earn 3 times the base Points earn rate of 3 Velocity Points per $1 spent on an eligible hotel booking.
Platinum Plus Members will continue to earn their tier bonus Velocity Points separately (an extra 4.5 bonus Points per $1 spent on eligible Hotel bookings).

An eligible hotel booking is one that is made during the Offer Period via Hopper Hotels at https://www.virginaustralia.com/au-en/hotels and is for travel between 15 January 2026 and 31 May 2026 (inclusive).
Velocity Points are not earned on full redemption hotel bookings. For “Points + Pay” bookings, Velocity Points will be earned on any “+ Pay” component. Points will not be awarded for additional or incidental costs (such as in-room charges, early check-in, late checkout and upgrades), cancelled bookings or bookings where the stay is not completed.
