Earn up to 30,000 Velocity points when you sign up for selected QBE insurance policies:
- 30,000 points for comprehensive car insurance
- 15,000 points for third-party car insurance
- 30,000 points for building and contents insurance
- 30,000 points for building only insurance
- 15,000 points for contents only insurance
Landlord cover is also available at the same rates as home insurance: 30,000 points for building and contents or building only, whilst contents only earns you just 15,000 points.
You are eligible for the points after you have held your policy for 90 days and made at least one premium payment. They’ll then be credited to your Velocity account within 5 days.
On top of this initial sign up bonus, you can also earn 5,000-10,000 additional points if you maintain your policy for twelve months. However, the larger bonus you receive after just 90 days is the main appeal of this offer.
Unfortunately, QBE have closed the loopholes that made their original Velocity points offer so legendary. For example, you can no longer take out multiple policies for the same risk:
A risk that has previously been insured under an Eligible Insurance Product and for which Velocity Points have been awarded (whether to the same Velocity Member or any other person) is not eligible to earn Velocity Points again, regardless of whether the policy is cancelled, expires, is replaced, or a new policy is later taken out in respect of the same risk;
Also, each Velocity account can now only earn points on a maximum of five eligible insurance products.
However, even with these new rules QBE’s Velocity bonuses could still be worthwhile under the right circumstances. Just be sure to compare prices and coverage with other providers before making a decision.

looking at T&C looks like if you got points in the previous promotion Feb-Mar 26 you are still eligible to receive the points again?
Any idea how long it takes for the velocity points to credit after the 3-month timeline?
This is a pretty good offer, but I wouldn’t want to keep the policy much longer after the 3 months is why I ask.
