First-time cardholder 20,000 extra Qantas Points offer: 20,000 extra Qantas Points are available to new Qantas Points earning credit or charge cardholders (over 18 years) who have not earned points on a Qantas Points earning credit card within the 24 months prior to activation of the offer. Offer excludes American Express Qantas Corporate Cards, Qantas Money Premier Platinum credit card and Qantas Business Rewards cards. To be eligible to earn the 20,000 extra Qantas Points, members must a) activate the offer between 12.01am (AEST) 1 August 2025 and 11.59pm (AEST) 31 August 2025 and receive a confirmation email to the nominated email address in your Qantas Frequent Flyer account within five business days, b) apply for any eligible card featured on qantas.com/cards and be approved by the relevant card partner, and c) make an eligible purchase on their new card within 30 days. Qantas Points earned from the member’s first purchase must be credited to their Qantas Frequent Flyer account by 30 November 2025. Qantas Points are taken to be credited on the date they appear in the Qantas Frequent Flyer activity statement which can be checked online at qantas.com/myaccount. If you have successfully fulfilled the offer requirements, please allow up to 12 weeks for your 20,000 extra Qantas Points to be credited to your Qantas Frequent Flyer account with the description ‘Credit Card Bonus’. of course now that i wanted to do it after not having a card for just over 12m (and only had a card for 12m), they change the requirement to 24m!
Does the points earning count for the new qantas pay card aswell, or does it need to be a credit card?
No. It’s only available for credit or charge cards.
If you activate the offer now, but dont sign up for a credit card for another 3 months, will that still count?
I activated this offer on 7th August received the email, but didn’t get approved for a CC until 29th August. I’ve made a purchase within the 30 days since being accepted. Now this offer has expired will I still receive the extra points or did I miss out?
As long as your first points credit by 30 Nov 2025 then I can’t imagine why you wouldn’t receive the 20,000 points.
