Bonus 20,000 Qantas points for first time holders of a Qantas points earning credit card

Earn 20,000 bonus Qantas points when you sign up for your first Qantas points earning credit card. These points are in addition to any bonus points that you may earn from signing up for certain cards.

A first time cardholder is anyone who has not earned Qantas points from a credit card in the past twelve months (full definition in the terms and conditions below).

To earn the bonus 20,000 points, register for the offer by 31 Jul 2024, apply and be approved for any of the credit cards featured on qantas.com/cards and then make an eligible purchase within 30 days.

They tend to run these new cardholder bonuses several times throughout the year with the number of points on offer fluctuating between 10,000, 15,000 and 20,000 points.

The 20,000 extra Qantas Points is available to new Qantas Points earning credit or charge cardholders only. Members must not have earned Qantas Points on a Qantas Points earning credit card into their Qantas Frequent Flyer or Qantas Business Rewards account within the past 12 months from offer registration to be eligible. Woolworths Qantas Platinum credit card or Frequent Flyer Diners Club cardholders who have earned a Qantas Point on their relevant card in the last 12 months are eligible for this offer. Offer excludes American Express Qantas Corporate Cards. The Qantas Money Premier Platinum credit card has a different minimum spend requirement to be eligible, please refer to the specific terms and conditions for this offer. The two offers cannot be combined and cardholders are limited to one offer per Qantas Frequent Flyer or Qantas Business Rewards account only. You will receive the higher first-time cardholders bonus offer if you apply and are approved for a Qantas Money Premier Platinum credit card, even if you have registered for the 20,000 extra Qantas Points offer. To be eligible to receive the 20,000 extra Qantas Points, members must a) register between 12.01 am (AEST) 1 July and 11.59 pm (AEST) 31 July 2024 and receive a confirmation email to the nominated email address in your Qantas Frequent Flyer account within five business days, b) apply for any card featured on qantas.com/cards and be approved by the relevant card partner, and c) make an eligible purchase on their new card within 30 days. Qantas Points earned from the member’s first purchase must be credited to their Qantas Frequent Flyer or Qantas Business Rewards account by 31 October 2024. Qantas Points are taken to be credited on the date they appear in the Qantas Frequent Flyer or Qantas Business Rewards activity statement which can be checked online at qantas.com/myaccount.  If you have successfully fulfilled the offer requirements, please allow up to 12 weeks for your extra 20,000 Qantas Points to be credited to your Qantas Frequent Flyer or Qantas Business Rewards account with the description ‘Credit Card Bonus’.
