4x Qantas points on Woolworths, WISH, Bunnings and hundreds of other gift cards on Qantas Marketplace

Until 30 Jun 2024, earn 4x Qantas points per dollar spent instead of the usual 3x points on all gift cards on Qantas Marketplace. It’s not a massive increase but for gift cards where there aren’t really any better offers (e.g. Everyday WISH, Bunnings etc) it’s a nice bonus.

Gift cards available on Qantas Marketplace include:

The full list of gift cards can be found here. Qantas Marketplace typically credits the points to your account around three days after your purchase.

Note that Points Club and Points Club Plus members won’t earn any additional points as gift cards are listed as one of the excluded purchases for bonus points on Qantas Marketplace.

The Qantas Marketplace checkout system isn’t very smooth so it sometimes takes a few goes to get it to go through. It also sometimes defaults the payment method back to points instead of cash so make sure to confirm that it’s an all cash transaction before you pay.

Whilst you could use points to pay for your gift cards, it’s one of the worst ways to redeem Qantas points so we would strongly advise against it. Even with the 15% discount, it’s still a poor use of your points.

    1. Vanilla Mastercards appear to work, albeit more reliably when you’re only buying smaller denomination cards (e.g. $50, $100 etc). Vanilla Visas seem to be much more problematic when used on Qantas Marketplace but it may still be possible.

      1. You are right. Vanilla Visa was unsuccessful but Vanilla Mastercard was successful for 2x$250 gift cards.

  1. any suggestions on what to include in the name field when trying to pay via prepaid debit card

  2. mastercard debit worked for $200, but one annoying feature is that the purchase defaults to paying points, which is horrendous value, so you change that on the first screen when adding to the cart. On the second screen with payment details it defaults back to paying with points, which is horrendous value, and you have to change the slider back to cash purchase, and then you also have to click on button to update purchase otherwise it tries to use your points to purchase at horrendous value.

  3. Is it possible to buy a gift card from Woolies in the Qantas app and then use it to buy the restaurant gift card that will be available next week?

  4. vanilla visa cards are useless on qantas marketplace, do not work for $250 denomination of woolworths cards

    1. No. Your only option would be to buy the prepaid Vanilla Visa and Vanilla Mastercard gift cards at Woolworths when they earn 10x points.
