The Restaurant Choice gift card is highly popular as it can be used at almost any restaurant or eating place (including fast food restaurants).

- Limit of 50,000 points per Flybuys account

- Points are usually credited in 1-3 days
How it works
Scan your Flybuys when you buy any of these gift cards in-store at Coles between 13 Aug and 19 Aug 2025 and you will earn 20x points per dollar spent, usually credited to your account within 1-3 days.
Note that the variable load $50-500 and $20-500 denominations of the Restaurant Choice gift card are excluded. You’ll only earn 20x points on the $100 denomination of that particular card.
There is a daily purchase limit of five gift cards and you can’t earn more than 50,000 points in total for the duration of the offer, meaning you’re capped at spending a maximum of $2,500 on gift cards.
Where these gift cards can be used
Restaurant Choice gift cards can be used at:
- 5811: Caterers
- 5812: Eating Places, Restaurants
- 5813: Bars, Cocktail Lounges, Discotheques, Nightclubs, and Taverns: Drinking Places (Alcoholic Beverages)
- 5814: Fast Food Restaurants
- 7011: Lodging: Hotels, Motels, Resorts: not elsewhere classified
- 7996: Amusement Parks, Carnivals, Circuses, Fortune Tellers
Webjet gift cards can be used to pay for flights, holiday packages and hotel bookings. Up to 30 gift cards can be used per booking.
Event Cinemas gift cards can be used at Event Cinemas.
RedBalloon gift cards can be used to book experiences on the RedBalloon website.

Why is my restaurant choice card not working for movie world fright nights, any advice? On how I can still use it or why it’s not working
Also will they work for majority of hotels?
They should in theory work at most hotels but with some caveats. For example, you would in most cases have to use them in-person at the hotel and if you’re planning to pay with multiple cards then you would have to ask if that would be okay. Also, it wouldn’t be wise to use them overseas as they’d be subjected to a hefty currency conversion fee.
I am not familiar with that specific type of purchase but my guess is that they might be using a merchant category code not supported by the Restaurant Choice gift card.
Anyone else had a delay of receiving the bonus points?
It’s normally for the bonus points to be delayed by a few days. Check your Flybuys account at around 5-6pm each day as that’s when the points usually credit.
I’ve just received base points from a purchase of the restaurant cards on the 16th. Still no bonus points yet though.
Can I use the recent Coles Mastercard promo cards to pay for a restaurant gift card?
I believe so.
Anyone else’s restaurant cards ($100) not working when it comes time to pay? I’ve tried mine at a restaurant and a bar and both were declined.
Were you swiping the physical card or tapping it via Apple Pay, Google Pay etc? Have you checked the card’s balance?
Swiping and tried selecting savings and credit – neither worked. Card balance shows $100. I’ll try contacting them directly.
Why dont you add them into your phone wallet and Tap to Pay.
