5,000-20,000 Qantas points when you earn points for the first time with 1-3 new Qantas Business Rewards partners

Receive 5,000-20,000 bonus Qantas points when you earn points on your Qantas Business Rewards account with 1-3 new partners for the first time.

To be eligible to earn the bonus points, you must either:

You can earn a maximum of 20,000 bonus Qantas points:

  • 5,000 points if you earn with one new partner or product
  • 10,000 points if you earn with two new partners or products
  • 20,000 points if you earn with three new partners or products

What makes this offer so interesting is that it should be possible to qualify for the bonus points by spending very little money – potentially less than $50 for the full 20,000 points.

Whilst there are minimum spends specified for some partners (e.g. B2BPay, Pay.com.au, Payment Logic, YakPay, RewardPay, AMP, Qantas Hotels), for most others there are seemingly no such requirements.

In theory, that means you could unlock the first 5,000 points just from buying a $30 bottle of wine provided you connect your Qantas Frequent Flyer and Qantas Business Rewards accounts before making the purchase.

For the second bonus you might open a Qantas Business Money account, convert $25 to USD and then back to AUD again for total conversion fees of less than a dollar.

To unlock the third and final bonus, signing up for RewardPay and processing just a single points-earning payment of $10 might just do the trick. Update: Qantas have changed the terms and conditions mid-way through the offer to add a minimum spend for RewardPay. See the original terms here.

These are just some examples of what appear to be the cheapest options but Qantas Business Rewards has over 40 partners and products that you can choose from.

What are 20,000 Qantas points worth?

It depends how you redeem them:

      1. Qantas Business Rewards member or Accor Plus member? The Accor Plus offer is for new members only but the Qantas Business Rewards offer is available to new as well as existing members as long as you register first.

  1. Will that work if I did a Qantas wine purchase on my personal account but after I linked the business account and do the first time on the Qantas wine purchase?

    1. As long as it’s your first time earning Qantas Wine points on your QBR account I believe it should count.

  2. If I sign up with pay.com.au with their code to get the 20k qantas, do i qualify for qantas and pay.com.au promotion? are they cumulative?

    1. If it’s your first time earning points for flights on your QBR account then it should count.

  3. 20 points landed from Business Money – and I forgot I added the free Amex Ultimate Business and just earnt points from that – which should also count. Waiting til end of month for AMP GO to credit and then I should be done!

  4. Ive just joined Business Money. What amount would give me this bonus? I see they also have an offer for 5000pts for $10k but Im not doing that.

    1. I earned 50 points for converting $25 AUD to USD and back again. If it’s your first time earning points through Qantas Business Money then that should be enough. It’s only if you want to also earn the other bonus that a minimum spend applies.

  5. I signed up to RewardPay but am not clear what would count as a points-earning payment. What did you pay $10 on in your example?

    1. I paid $10 to the ATO and chose the highest Qantas points earning option when paying. I received 20 points in my QBR account less than a week later.

      1. Online Payment Partners (B2BPay, Pay.com.au, Payment Logic, YakPay and RewardPay): Minimum payment required to earn at least 500 Qantas Points in your Business Account. Earning eligibility is determined by each payment partner and are set out on their respective program pages here.
        They added Rewardpay as well

      2. Cheeky! I thought they might try to sneak something in after the fact so I archived the original terms and conditions here. It looks like we might end up having to fight for these points.

  6. How do I purchase a product from Qantas Wines under my Qantas Business Rewards profile? There’s nowhere to put down the ABN, and when I login to my profile, it appears as my personal account rather than my business account, even though I’ve linked the two.

    1. As long as you’ve connected your QFF account to your QBR account you don’t have to do anything. The points appeared in my QBR account within a week of placing an order.

  7. I’m not sure about the wine suggestion – this offer is for Qantas Business Rewards partners, and Qantas wine isn’t listed there. And I’m reading it as purchases with partners you haven’t shopped from before, so this might limit the options?

    Reply

    1. Qantas Wine is listed as a QBR partner. And yes, it has to be your first time earning points on your QBR account with each partner or product for it to count.

  8. Qantas wine is confusing. How would I know if my purchase will be count under business account? Will I earn personal point and business account points twice?

    Reply

    1. Correct. You don’t enter anything at checkout but you receive points on both your personal and QBR accounts provided you’ve connected them. Connecting them also give you Qantas Wine Premium membership so postage is free on any order.

      1. I have rec’d points on the ‘personal’ account’, but not on QBR. I connected them prior to ordering – did I miss something or is the application of points delayed on the QBR usually?

        Reply

      2. I received the wine points on my personal account about a week before they arrived on my QBR account.

    1. Per the terms and conditions:

Bonus points will be credited within 6 weeks of campaign completion.

Hopefully they don’t take that long.

  15. Are Jetstar flights a separate new way if you have only earnt points with qantas flights ? Thanks

    Reply

    1. I tried to find an answer for this but there doesn’t appear to be any clear guidance on it. For what it’s worth, Jetstar are listed separately to Qantas in the list of QBR partners so arguably they are a different partner or product.
