These offers on Mastercard gift cards are always popular because you can use them almost anywhere Mastercard is accepted both in-store and online.
Note that the ATO appear to no longer accept Coles Mastercard gift cards for online payments, although they may still work if you pay by phone.

How it works
Scan your Flybuys card when you purchase $100 and $250 Mastercard and $100 Google Play gift cards in-store at Coles between 26 Dec and 30 Dec 2025 and you will collect 2,000 bonus points for each one you purchase.
You can earn the 2,000 bonus points up to five times in total during this promotion. If you want to buy more than five gift cards, your only option is to use another Flybuys account.
Coles do not award points instantly like Woolworths so you usually have to wait for them to credit the following day at around 5-6pm. However, it’s not uncommon for the bonus points to be delayed by an extra day or two.
Both the $100 and $250 Mastercards earn the same 2,000 points bonus so most people tend to just buy the $100 cards as they’re cheaper. That also means they usually sell out well before the $250 cards.
The Mastercard gift cards now employ more more tamper-resistant packaging but it’s still smart to open them as soon as you’ve scanned them at the checkout to confirm that someone hasn’t tried to scratch off or obscure the card details. This guide shows you what signs to check for.

Hopefully the ATO removal reduces demand for these.
I am curious about that too as it’s the only possible benefit I can see arising from this change. Maybe if sales really fall off they’ll bring back the 10% off promotions?

I found I can buy Woolies and Big W gift cards via the Woolies Rewards app. Have not tried coles
To clarify, you can add them as payment method in the ER App and buy the Woolies GF?
1. You might be able to use them with Uber but there’s no point as you would be better off buying Uber’s own gift cards which are constantly included in promotions. These Mastercards haven’t worked on Qantas Marketplace since around Oct 2024.
2. They’ll work at Coles but at Woolworths there are some gift cards you can’t buy with them (e.g. Woolworths Group gift cards or other prepaid Visa, Mastercard and Eftpos gift cards).
Can these cards be added to Google Pay or Apple Pay?

Just a FYI – last time this promo ran, I used the cards to pay my rates notice. Had to do 5 payments of about $99.25 (75c on card fee) each but it worked.
I still haven’t received my points from that promotion a few weeks ago from Kmart has been almost a month. Anyone else the same???

Probably but I’m not sure why you’d want to as Apple’s own gift cards are regularly included in 20x points offers.

Yes, if you buy five $100 Mastercard gift cards you’ll earn 10,000 bonus points (10,525 in total as you also earn 1x point per dollar spent).
Actually Coles will be closed on the 26th Dec as well. At least the ones near me, not sure if Coles opens any store on Boxing Day

How do you check the balance? I have tried a few ways without success. Is there an official site to check, like in the case of HIM or HER cards?. The merchants decline the payment if the amount exceeds the card balance.
MyBalanceNow.com is the offical website. The domain on the back of the card should redirect to that website but it doesn’t always work. You should also be able to check the balance by calling the number on the back of the card.

Is there a way to pay council rates? If so how?
I live on the Gold Coast and I just go to pay the rates with the notice number and make the payment amount $99.33 (67c card fee) and it lets me make the payments. I currently have about $995 (did it the last time this promo happened) and when they issue the next notice it will just use that credit amount
I know this is now finished but i’m curious what happens if you have a flybuys account with an additional member. Can the additional member (separate flybuys number but linked account) get the bonus points as well as the primary account?
You need completely separate Flybuys accounts if you want to buy more than five gift cards in an offer like this.
