
The 2,000 Velocity points bonus for DoorDash users has returned but with new requirements. Previously, existing users could earn the points but now you must be a new DoorDash user or have not placed an order in the past 365 days.
To earn the 2,000 points, link your Velocity Frequent Flyer account in the settings section of the DoorDash app or website and then place an eligible order (see definition in the terms and conditions below).
In addition to the first order bonus, you’ll also earn an ongoing 1x Velocity point per dollar spent on all qualifying DoorDash orders you make whilst your Velocity account remains linked.
Officially, purchases made using DoorDash gift cards do not qualify, however, at the time of writing at least, this does not appear to be enforced as we’ve received the points on all of our orders that were exclusively paid for with gift cards.
Hopefully this oversight continues to be ignored as DoorDash gift cards are often included in bonus points promotions at Coles and Woolworths, meaning you could earn an extra 10x Velocity or Qantas points per dollar spent.
For those interested in discounts, DoorDash gift cards are always 20% off at Costco and they are also frequently included in 10% off or cashback promotions at various other stores.
Terms and conditions
From 12.01am AEST on 13th August 2025 until withdrawn or varied by DoorDash or Velocity, Velocity Frequent Flyer members (“Velocity Member”) can earn 2,000 bonus Velocity Points if they:
- Are a Returning DoorDash Customer and:
- link their Velocity and DoorDash accounts by entering their first name, last name and valid Velocity membership number into their DoorDash customer account in the settings section of the DoorDash app or www.doordash.com; and
- complete an Eligible Order within Australia; or
- are a New DoorDash Customer and:
- link their Velocity and DoorDash accounts by entering their first name, last name and valid Velocity membership number into their DoorDash customer account in the settings section of the DoorDash app or www.doordash.com; and
- complete an Eligible Order within Australia.
The 2,000 bonus Points offer can only be earned once per Velocity Member. This offer is not valid with any other Velocity Points offer except the ongoing DoorDash Earn offer.
Velocity Members will continue to earn 1 Velocity Point per $1 spent on all completed Eligible Orders that are made via doordash.com or on the DoorDash app in conjunction with the Bonus Points offer. See the DoorDash Earn offer for more details.
The Velocity Member’s first and last name on their Velocity membership account must match the first and last name registered to their DoorDash customer account.
Velocity Members can only earn Velocity Points on a single linked DoorDash account. Once your Velocity Frequent Flyer account and DoorDash account are linked you cannot link that Velocity Frequent Flyer account to another DoorDash customer account.
If the Velocity Member meets the eligibility requirements for this offer, the bonus Velocity Points will be allocated to the Velocity Member’s Velocity membership account within 3 working days of completion of the Eligible Order.
This offer is subject to the Velocity membership Terms and Conditions as amended from time to time. The DoorDash Terms and Conditions apply to the use of the DoorDash platforms and all orders.
This offer may be changed, extended, suspended or terminated at any time.
“Eligible Order“ means a purchase transaction (for delivery or pickup) made by a Velocity Member through the DoorDash app or www.doordash.com within Australia, other than Excluded Transactions. Velocity Points can be earned on the purchase transaction subtotal (incl. applicable fees, taxes, additional charges and delivery fees) after any other promotions or discounts have been applied. If a Gift Card is used as a payment method, Velocity Points will not be earned on the portion of the transaction paid for using the Gift Card and will not be earned if the entire transaction is paid for using the Gift Card.
“Excluded Transaction” means the purchase of Gift Cards, payment of tips and DashPass subscription fees.
“New DoorDash Customer” means an individual who creates a valid customer account with DoorDash after 12.01am AEST on 13th August 2025 and who has not previously held a DoorDash customer account.
“Returning DoorDash Customer” mean an individual who has a registered customer account with DoorDash but has not placed an order using that account in 365 days immediatly prior to completing an Eligible Order.
To earn Velocity Points you must be a Velocity member. Velocity membership is subject to the Velocity membership Terms and Conditions as amended from time to time.
