Hopper Hotels is Virgin Australia’s new hotel booking platform after they recently ended their relationship with Agoda’s Rocket Travel.
12x points per dollar is a very strong offer and compares favourably with the triple points promotions that we often see from Qantas Hotels. It’s certainly better than Qantas Hotels’ current bonus offer.
Also, unlike Qantas Hotels where your points can take up to eight weeks to arrive, Hopper states that your points will credit within just one week of hotel checkout.
Whilst these deals can be a fantastic way to boost your points balance, it’s always a good idea to compare prices across multiple booking sites because they can vary substantially.
Terms and conditions
During the promotional period of 12:01AM AEDT on 27 March 2025 to 11:59PM AEDT on 2 April 2025 (Offer Period), Velocity members will earn Velocity Points on eligible hotel bookings with Hopper Hotels at www.virginaustralia.com/au-en/hotels with an earn rate of 12 Velocity Points per $1 of eligible spent. This means that Velocity member may be eligible to earn 4 times the standard earn rate of 3 Velocity Points per $1 of eligible spent on hotel bookings. All bookings made through this platform are subject to Hopper terms and conditions.
An eligible hotel booking is one that is made during the Offer Period via Hopper at www.virginaustralia.com/au-en/hotels and is for travel between 25 March 2025 and 30 June 2025 (inclusive) . Velocity Points are not earned on full redemption bookings. For “Points + Pay” bookings, Velocity Points will be earned on any “+ Pay” component. Points will not be awarded for additional or incidental hotel costs (such as in-room charges, early check-in, late check-out and upgrades), cancelled bookings or bookings where stay is not completed. Velocity members must submit their valid Velocity membership number at the time of booking to be eligible to earn Velocity Points. Only one Velocity member per booking is eligible to earn Velocity Points.
Points are awarded after check-out and are credited to your account within 1 week after check-out.
