After Velocity launched a triple points on hotels offer yesterday, Qantas have joined in on the fun with their own triple points promotion. Plus, they’re also offering 1,000 bonus points if it’s your first time using Qantas Hotels.
To qualify for both the triple points and 1,000 bonus points offers, all you have to do is make an eligible accomodation booking through Qantas Hotels by 10 Dec 2024 for travel until 9 Dec 2025. See below for the complete terms and conditions.
For most members this will allow you to earn 9x Qantas points per dollar spent on your accomodation but if you hold Points Club or Points Club Plus status you’ll receive an additional 25% or 50% points, respectively. That means someone with PCP status could earn 13.5x points per dollar.
If you’re a Qantas Business Rewards member, you’ll also receive 3x Qantas points per dollar spent for your business on top of the points earned by the individual traveller.
As is always the case with Qantas Hotels points offers, Airbnb, Classic Hotel Rewards and holiday packages are all excluded. The bonus points will arrive within eight weeks of hotel checkout but we’ve found that it’s usually more like four weeks.
These hotel triple points offers can be an excellent way to boost your points balance but you should always compare prices across multiple booking sites. If the rates on Qantas Hotels are the similar to what others are charging then it can definitely be worthwhile booking through them.
Interestingly, the terms and conditions for the 1,000 points new user offer do not appear to specify a minimum spend (only for Deposit Pay) or an exclusion of no show bookings, meaning it may be possible to qualify for the 1,000 points with a $1.33 booking at Mae Sot Commune in Thailand.

Qantas Frequent Flyer members will earn 9 Qantas Points per A$1 spent on all hotels booked through qantas.com/hotels from 12:01am (AEDT) 4 December 2024 until 11:59pm (AEDT) 10 December 2024 for travel until 9 December 2025. Qantas Business Rewards members will earn 12 Qantas Points per A$1 spent on all hotels booked through their Qantas Business Rewards Account – that’s 9 Qantas Points for the Frequent Flyer and 3 Qantas Points for the business. Excludes Classic Hotel Rewards, Airbnb, and holiday packages booked through qantas.com/holidays. Bookings made for Accor hotel offers during the campaign period will not earn triple points; however they will earn 9 Qantas Points per A$1 spent instead of the standard 4 Qantas Points per $1 spent. Points Club members will earn 25% more Qantas Points, and Points Club Plus members will earn 50% more Qantas Points. Qantas Points will not be earned on cancelled, amended or refunded bookings. Qantas Points cannot be split between two or more members occupying the same room. Qantas Points will be credited to your account within 8 weeks of hotel check-out.
1,000 bonus Qantas Points will be awarded to Qantas Frequent Flyer members who make their first booking on all hotels booked through qantas.com/hotels, from 12:01am (AEDT) 4 December 2024 until 11:59pm (AEDT) 10 December 2024 for travel until 9 December 2025. Excludes Classic Hotel Rewards, Airbnb, and holiday packages booked through qantas.com/holidays. In order to be eligible for the bonus points, the name of the lead traveller must match the name associated with the Qantas Frequent Flyer number. Bookings made with Deposit Pay must have a minimum initial deposit of $150 to be eligible to earn bonus points. In order to be eligible for the bonus points, the name of the lead traveller must match the name associated with the Qantas Frequent Flyer number. 1,000 bonus Qantas Points will be credited to your account within 8 weeks of hotel check-out.
