Earn 20x Everyday Rewards points per dollar spent on all denominations of TCN Gift, Party, Pub & Bar, Good Food and Stan gift cards at Woolworths.

Some of these TCN gift cards can be used at JB Hi-Fi, The Good Guys, Uber, Uber Eats and more, whilst the TCN Pub & Bar and Good Food gift cards work at almost any restaurant or eating place (excluding fast food).

Here are the details:

  • Runs from Wed 29 Jan to Tue 4 Feb 2025
  • Only available in-store at Woolworths
  • For $100 TCN Gift, limit of two per day
  • For all other gift cards, limit of ten per day
  • This offer is open to everyone and does not require activation

How it works

Simply purchase any of these gift cards in-store at Woolworths between 29 Jan and 4 Feb 2025, ensuring that you scan your Everyday Rewards card at the checkout. The 20x points should immediately be visible in your account.

You don’t need to activate or “boost” this offer as it’s automatically open to all Everyday Rewards members. It’ll be advertised in the Woolworths 29 Jan catalogue and possibly via some in-store posters. You won’t see it in your Everyday Rewards app.

The TCN Good Food and Pub & Bar gift cards are merchant category gift cards that should work at any almost restaurant or drinking place (except fast food). It’s recommended that you convert your physical gift cards into digital ones via their respective websites as some payment terminals (e.g. Square) won’t accept the physical version.

If you’re having trouble exchanging your TCN gift cards or converting them into digital gift cards, try registering them here first. That usually solves the issue.

  1. The Pub one is only available in $50 isn’t it?

Any idea what denomination(s) the TCN Good Food is available in?

    1. I believe Woolworths stocks these gift cards in the following denominations:

      – TCN Gift: $30, $50, $100

      – TCN Party: $25, $40

      – TCN Pub & Bar: $50, $100

      – TCN Good Food: $100, $200

      – Stan: $30

      1. Bottle shops aren’t officially supported by any of these gift cards but I have been told that the Pub & Bar gift card works at BWS which suggests that it might also work at Dan Murphy’s. I doubt it would be the same for the Good Food gift card.

      2. I’ve noticed the last couple gift card offers have not included any variable load. Do you think they’ll bring that back?
Will still definitely buy this time, just the $500 at a time is good 😁

      3. Woolworths doesn’t sell any of the gift cards in this offer in variable load denominations so they haven’t actually excluded them.

It is true, however, that most offers these days exclude the $500 variable load denominations of the most sought after gift cards but there are sometimes exceptions.

  2. So the Good food and pub cards are similar the the restaurant/cafe cards ? Can be used all all restraints, cafes, pubs?

    Reply

    1. Similar but not quite the same. You can see the differences highlighted here: https://gcdb.com.au/mcc/?search=5812

The TCN Restaurant, TCN Pub & Bar and TCN Good Food gift cards all support “5812: Eating Places, Restaurants” and “5813: Bars, Cocktail Lounges, Discotheques, Nightclubs, and Taverns: Drinking Places (Alcoholic Beverages)”.

None of these TCN cards officially support “5814: Fast Food Restaurants” but the digital version of the TCN Restaurant does unofficially work at fast food places so that’s why it’s the most sought after of all the TCN gift cards.

However, the best restaurant gift cards are the Restaurant Choice and Cafe Choice as they support the widest range of merchant categories as you can see from that list I linked above.

      1. Sorry, I’m a bit confused with all the different card names. Can the promoted ‘TCN Good Food’ gift card be converted into the better digital version of the TCN Restaurant card? If not, should I wait for the better TCN Restaurant card to buy up in bulk?

        Reply

      2. If you convert a physical Good Food gift card into a digital one it’ll still just be a Good Food gift card. You can’t swap it for another gift card in the series (e.g. TCN Restaurant).

The only benefit that the TCN Restaurant has over the Good Food and Pub & Bar gift cards is that it unofficially supports Fast Food Restaurants (5814) when you add it to your mobile wallet. If you’re not planning to use the gift card at fast food places then you should be fine with one of these two cards.

Woolworths have already run an offer on the TCN Restaurant gift card this month (but it was 10% off) so it could be a while before we see another one, especially if you’re only interested in the points offers.

      3. Having massive issues with merchants accepting the restaurant gift card, eg Korean bbq restaurant , fast food, local cafe , hunky dory . Only had it approve at a froyo and for one coffee (digital)

  3. Are you sure the Good Food cards can be used at restaurants/bars generally? The website suggests that it is only the restaurants listed in their (relative limited) directory.

  4. I’m trying to make a $6k purchase at JBHIFI. If I understand correctly. I can take 2x$100 Gift + 10x$40 Party per 24h period, whilst I do the exact same by logging on my partner’s rewards account and doing the same exact same with the same credit card ($1200 per day for 5 days)? Second question, this will amount to 120 cards into total, is that possible via JBHIFI website?

      1. I once did 25 cards for a purchase at Good Guys…the young lady behind the counter thought it was hilarious!

        Reply

    1. You should actually be able to buy two $100 TCN Gift and ten $50 TCN Gift since the separate two per day limit applies only to the $100 denomination of the TCN Gift.

What’s interesting is that Woolworths have for some time now been applying the purchase limits to each individual gift card type rather than as an overall limit so you may even be able to buy two $100 TCN Gift, ten $50 TCN Gift and ten $40 TCN Party each day with one Everyday Rewards account for a daily total of $1,100. The checkout should tell you how many points you earn just before you pay so if you want to try this you can confirm you’re going to earn the points before you actually part with any money.

JB Hi-Fi have no limit on the number of gift cards you can use in-store or online and I am aware of someone using over 50. If you manage to beat that record, please do let me know.

      1. Can I swap the TCN cards for JBHIFI gift cards, that way I can make the purchase online and not hassle the sales reps with my 100+ cards?

      2. Both the TCN Gift and TCN Party gift cards can indeed be swapped for JB Hi-Fi’s own gift cards via the TCN website.

  5. If you buy multiple TCN Good Food cards, can you merge them into one when creating the digital card?
Thanks for your tips and advice!

    1. Google Play gift cards are 10% off at Coles starting this Wednesday but if it’s points you’re after then I couldn’t tell you, sorry. I believe you can technically still use the TCN Gift and TCN Party gift cards to buy Google Play gift cards at JB Hi-Fi but it’s not officially allowed so staff may refuse.

    1. Yes, you can buy ten Pub & Bar gift cards each day. If you’ve never used these sorts of gift cards before, I’d recommend just starting off with one or two so you can get a feel for them.

      1. For some reason the TCN gift card can’t be converted to ubereats on the TCN website, it shows this gift card cannot be converted to the chosen gift card. Sent them an email waiting for reply

      2. Registered, swapped for uber ones, never received the uber ones in email and support just flat out ignores me, why tf do have have to build such a complicated and faulty system is beyond me.

        Reply

      3. If you call them they should be able to just re-issue the email on the spot. I’ve had this happen a couple of times and it was always very quick to get it sorted.

  6. Question/info for Good Food Cards- it needs 24hrs after you buy them.(most likely) it did not work for me the same day ($200) card. Declined 3 times with error contact card issuer. I did register it online as well – showed 200$ loaded. Still no luck at restaurant.

      1. Definitely try digital. As mentioned in the article, there are known issues with the physical cards.

        Reply

      2. Tried Digital as well- does not work. Tried after 24 hrs. Their website says only selected restaurants

        Reply

      3. That’s odd. There are known issues with the physical card but the digital version of the TCN Good Food gift card is explicitly acknowledged as a merchant category gift card so there’s no reason why it shouldn’t work at all restaurants, provided of course they’re not categorised as something else (e.g. fast food).

If you want to, you can use your TCN Good Food digital gift card to buy a Restaurant Choice gift card on ShopBack via Apple Pay. The Restaurant Choice gift card supports a lot more merchant category codes such as fast food so it should be much easier for you to use.

      4. Thanks, I think that might be my only option. Can you elaborate on shopback thingy? Guess you saved my 200$

      1. Tried at another two places which is now beyond the 24 hours and still doesn’t work. Will be trying to get them to give my money back!

      2. If you can’t get the TCN Good Food gift card to work I suggest you just use it to buy a Restaurant Choice gift card on ShopBack via Apple Pay while that’s still possible.

  7. Have been declined 5 times on trying to use the Good Food cards. Tried physical and digital. Says card not authorised on this terminal. Rang TCN Customer Service who informed me I can ONLY use the Good Food card at participating restaurants found on their website. It is a very limited list. Spent $400 on cards and can’t use. Upsetting to say the least.

    1. I suggest that you use your digital TCN Good Food gift card to purchase a Restaurant Choice gift card on ShopBack via Apple Pay while it’s still possible to do so.

I’m not sure why you’re having so much trouble with your Good Food cards as they’re definitely not just limited to specific restaurants. The fact that I was able to use mine to buy the more versatile Restaurant Choice gift card is proof of that.

    2. strange, I tried it at my local cafe, a Dosa Hut, and a local restaurant and it worked at all 3. None are on the list.
I also tried it a my local charcoal chicken place and it declined which wasn’t surprising – then tried a restaurant card and it worked.

  8. I thought Shopback blocked late last year the method of using TCN cards to buy other cards or is the good food gift TCN card a current exception that works?

    Reply

    1. I suspect they just blocked their core range of merchant category gift cards as the TCN Good Food gift card isn’t affected – at least for now.

  9. It seems these TCN gift cards are causing confusion, with people experiencing issues using them at various locations. I think it’s best to hold off and wait for the better, more reliable ones to come along.

  10. I’m unsure how I use the pub and bar card to buy the restaurant choice card on shopback. Any advice appreciated!

  11. Can the GIFT be refunded at all? I purchased 5 x $100 cards not realising on 2 per day could be converted to points (DOH!)

    Reply

    1. You can’t refund them but you can try calling Everyday Rewards to see if they’ll credit you the extra points. I’ve seen it happen a lot and almost every single time the points have been manually credited.

  12. Does anyone know if the GIFT one can be used at Cotton On subsidiaries too as it states Cotton On but wanting to use it at Factorie, it should work shouldn’t it as Cotton On owns them? Thank you

    Reply

    1. Cotton On gift cards can be used at any store within the Cotton On Group as I understand it. The TCN Gift can be used directly at Cotton On or exchanged for a Cotton On gift card so I can’t imagine it would be an issue to use it at Factorie. If you are still concerned, you could always just buy the TCN Party gift cards which specifically list Factorie as a participating retailer.
