How it works
Buy any of these gift cards in-store at Coles between 5 Mar and 11 Mar 2025 and scan your Flybuys card at the checkout. Make sure you don’t buy the $30 cards or the similarly themed Ultimate gift cards as those are all excluded.
You won’t be told if you’ve qualified for the Flybuys points at the time of purchase but they should credit to your account the next day at around 5pm. Sometimes the bonus points can be delayed by several days or arrive in batches.
As both the $50 and $100 cards receive the same bonus of 1,000 points, you are better off only buying the $50 cards. On top of the 1,000 points, you’ll also receive 1x Flybuys point per dollar spent so you’ll actually earn 21x points per dollar spent on the $50 gift cards.
If you buy the maximum of five $50 cards during this offer you’ll earn a total of 5,250 Flybuys points worth either $26.25 in Flybuys Dollars or 2,625 Velocity points.

Officially, TCN Restaurant gift cards cannot be used at ‘5814: Fast Food Restaurants’ but for some reason this limitation does not seem to apply to the digital version. You can convert your physical TCN Restaurant card into a digital one here so that you can add it your mobile wallet (e.g. Apple Pay).

Will the restaurant cards work at the food/drink places inside entertainment/sports venues (I.e.MCG)? If not, do any gift cards work at those places or do you know how I can find out what merchant code they have?
I could be wrong but I would guess that those places would be categorised as restaurants or fast food. If you’ve previously spent money there, you can have a look through your bank activity and see what they’ve categorised it at. Some banks may even tell you the exact merchant category code used for a given transaction if you ask them.
I’ve tried to use a Cafe Choice gift card at the MCG before and it declined, so based on the MCCs I assume this card would too. It did later work at a racecourse though.
