Earn 10x Everyday Rewards points per dollar spent on TCN Luxury Eftpos gift cards and 20x points on TCN Him, Kids, Baby, Party, Shop and Good Food gift cards at Woolworths.
The TCN Luxury Eftpos gift card can be used basically anywhere, not just at “luxury” shops. Each one of those you buy loaded with $500 will earn you 2,500 Qantas points or $25 worth of Everyday Rewards Dollars for a purchase fee of just $7.95.
Some of the TCN multi-retailer gift cards that earn 20x points in this promotion can be used at places like The Good Guys, JB Hi-Fi, Baby Bunting, Uber and more. Each $100 you spend on those cards will earn you 1,000 Qantas points or $10 worth of Everyday Rewards Dollars.
Here are the details:
- Runs from Wed 23 Oct to Tue 29 Oct 2024.
- Only available in-store at Woolworths.
- For cards with a fixed value, a limit of ten per day.
- For $20-500 TCN Kids, a limit of two per day.
- For TCN Luxury Eftpos, a limit of two per day.
- TCN Luxury Eftpos gift card has $7.95 purchase fee.
- This offer is open to everyone and does not require activation.
How it works
To earn the 10x or 20x points on these gift cards, simply buy them at Woolworths or Woolworths Metro between 23 Oct and 29 Oct 2024, ensuring that you scan your Everyday Rewards card when paying.
The checkout should state how many points you are going to earn on the screen just after you hit Pay Now. Once you’ve paid, the bonus points should immediately credit to your Everyday Rewards account.
These two promotions will be advertised in the Woolworths catalogue for 23 Oct. You won’t see it in the Everyday Rewards app but that’s to be expected. Simply being an Everyday Rewards member means you’re eligible to earn the bonus points on these gift cards.
Whilst most gift cards in this offer have a limit of ten per day per Everyday Rewards member, the TCN Luxury Eftpos and $20-500 TCN Kids gift cards have a lower limit of just two per day. The TCN Luxury Eftpos gift card has a $7.95 purchase fee but none of the other gift cards have fees.
The last promotion on TCN Luxury Eftpos gift cards was less than a month ago so it’s likely that many stores won’t have been restocked yet. In any case, they usually don’t keep more than a dozen or so of these particular cards in stock so you can expect these to be very hard to find.
If you’re having trouble swapping your TCN multi-retailer gift card for a partner retailer’s own gift card, try registering it here first. More often than not, registering your card solves this issue.

It worked with coles but can i buy the luxury gift cards then use that to buy the tcn gift cards?
There are no guarantees with these sorts of things but it should work. Just don’t be shocked if it doesn’t for some reason.
Confirmed we can. I just did.
How do we use the remaining amount on the Luxury EFTPOS if the purchase price is higher? Do we tap the card and it’ll ask us to tap a different card for the remainder? TIA
Just ask if you can pay $X.XX on one card and then the remainder on another. Many businesses will be happy to oblige. At Woolworths you can very easily do split payments so that’s how I tend to use up the small leftover balances on my prepaid gift cards.
Note that you don’t “tap” these gift cards. They don’t have a chip so you always have to physically swipe them.
Good shout. Thanks Vantage!
Anywhere that lets you split payment and does not charge any surcharges for using EFTPOS e.g. most doctor offices, AUS POST, Woolworths, Maccas KFC etc.
My GP lets me split payment when I see them – and best part is they don’t even charge you a surcharge. Same goes for the post office – mine is wonderful and lets me split payment for council rates water bills etc to the dollar and cent.
Do you think we could use the luxury eftpos cards to pay tax at the post office?
I think you’re onto something here.
The manager at my local post office has instructed their staff to ask to see the card before letting you pay a bill with it, and reject any non-bank cards
huh wonder why, maybe gift eftpos card expose them to more risk
out of curiosity, did you try other post offices? thanks
Some people just don’t like things they don’t understand.
The gift card will work if they let you use it. I used to do it all the time when I was picking up parcels at my local PO, but there’s no point trying any more as all the staff there have been briefed about it.
When I have something to post I and I have the chance to go to another branch, I do try to use gift cards to pay a bill, and they usually let me do it about half of the time.
With those kinds of odds, I’m not going to make a special trip and line up for 10-15 mins if I don’t have something else to do at the PO anyway
They’re being C#nTS.
My local post office doesn’t make a fuss – I just ask to pay with EFTPOS and I don’t tell them that it’s a gift card – they just accept it and it works.
Your branch is being absolute C$$TS. I would complain to Australia post’s main phone line.
Ah found this
ATO themselves saying gift cards can’t be used. booooo
That comment is another fail and as the ATO website clearly states that EFTPOS is accept and no mention that prepaid gift cards cannot be used.
I have used them no problem to pay business ATO bills
Ah the good old Post office on a power trip.. It’s an EFTPOS card and is allowed to be used as EFTPOS.
Is there a limit purchase for the luxury cards per person? Thank you
Yes. Two per day per Everyday Rewards account.
Going to check out a few Woolworths over the coming days to see if they have them on shelf already ..
How can I trust Woolworths’ with these promotions the last two failed not stick and now all cards won’t activate
Do the retailers – like JB or Rebel – limit how many cards you can redeem?
It depends on the retailer and whether you’re shopping in-store or online. JB Hi-Fi have no limits in-store or online. Rebel limit you to just three gift cards on their website but I don’t believe they limit how many TCN gift cards you can use in-store as someone on the Qantas Points Collectors group once used 50+ cards for a single purchase.
No
What happens when i get a TCN kids gift card purchase something from JBHifi and later the item has to be returned for a refund?
Do they need the TCN gift card to refund it or do they ask me to take store credit in case I dont have the gift cards with me anymore?
It’s up to the merchant to decide how your refund will be processed. In most cases that means you’ll end up with one of their own gift cards.
No variable Luxury cards to be found in several stores – Sydney, inner west / southern suburbs
Anyone yet site these ‘white whales’ ?
I’ve just gone back from overseas and want to do the uber gift card hack on overseas uber purchases. Know if it will work? (i.e. change payment method from CC to gift card?)
It doesn’t work for overseas purchases.
Sanity check – I go for 2x variables + 10 fixed in a single day and I shouldn’t face any issues with the maximum caps right? Or am i better playing it safe and going 2x variables + 8 fixed so I’m not over 10 cards “overall”?
Two variables and ten fixed should be fine. That’s always worked in previous promotions. In any case, the checkout screen will state how many points you will earn right before you pay so there’s no real risk.
Interestingly, Woolworths have lately been applying the purchase limits to each individual card type in an offer so it’s actually possible you could buy ten fixed value TCN Him, ten fixed value TCN Kids, ten fixed value TCN Party etc all on the same day. If you’re planning a very large JB Hi-Fi purchase, for example, that might be worth trying. Just confirm you’ve earned the right amount of points before paying.
Hi can I buy 2 luxury card and from that luxury card can i buy 2 variable kid card on the same day for 2 card
No promises as there’s always a chance they may have introduced more restrictions but I’d expect that to work. Maybe just try it with one card first to be safe.
Awesome work, thank you.
Is there any reason I cannot buy 10 of the $100 “HIM” cards and use them in 1 transaction in good guys?
Thanks. As long as you’re shopping in-store and not online that should be fine.
Just be aware that your Good Guys (or any other retailer for that matter) may restrict the number of cards they will accept for each transaction. My local GGuys once said they would only take up to 5 at any time as it would crash their system. Not sure if there was any truth in that, but it’s at their discretion.
Good Food Card’s website has specific merchants that are enabled, not the MCC Codes above. Any feedback as to whether it’s strictly at those restaurants versus a blanket MCC?
Whilst the language on their website suggests that the Good Food gift card can only be used at specific restaurants, the terms and conditions paint a different picture:
In the TCN Good Food gift card FAQ they also acknowledge that “there may be some instances” where the gift card “works outside of the list shown on this website”. Additionally, TCN told me by phone just a few weeks ago that it’s a merchant category gift card set to support the MCCs 5812 and 5813.
Of course, it’s possible that’s all wrong so maybe don’t buy one unless you can use it at one of the officially sanctioned restaurants.
I just tried at Gongcha and NoodleHut, didn’t work.
I am wondering how I could resolve this issue when purchasing something from JB Hi-Fi online. I got a price match via their website chat, and the sales person gave me a link for the discounted price. It doesn’t allow me to use third party gift cards such as TCN. I then saw someone posted something like I could swap TCN gift card to JB Hi-Fi gift card. Is it possible for me to swap TCN Him gift cards to JB Hi-Fi gift cards? And how? If I have 5 $100 worth ($500 in total) of TCN Him gift cards. Thank you.
Go to the TCN Him page on the TCN website, select JB Hi-Fi from the list of retailers, choose online and then follow the steps to exchange your card for a digital JB Hi-Fi gift card. Do that for each card and then you’ll be able to use them to pay for your JB Hi-Fi online purchase.
Thank you for the information. 🙂
Do the bonus points apply to gift cards purchase at Woolies metro?
Yes, though Woolworths Metro stores often only stock a smaller range of gift cards so you may not find all of these cards there.
Does the UberEats hack work here to change purchases in the last 30 days or does that only work with specific Uber cards?
The hack still works because to use the TCN Him and Shop gift cards with Uber you have to exchange them for some of Uber’s own gift cards via the TCN website.
sigh here we go again *spend 2 hours in the car to drive to random obscure Woolies*
I bought a TCN GoodFood Restaurant Gift Card today at 5 pm and got my bonus points.
Went to a restaurant at 9 pm and tried using it and it didn’t work. It said declined (I tried both options “credit” and “savings”. Anyone had the same issue?
I wonder if it’s because the restaurant is not listed in their website… I thought this card would be accepted in any restaurant, like the other restaurant/Cafe gift cards…
With physical TCN Good Food gift cards you press Savings and then enter the card’s PIN. However, the Square payment terminals that a lot of businesses use won’t accept any swipe-only Eftpos cards. It’s possible that’s the reason why your card didn’t work.
I pressed savings and put the pin accordingly. The restaurant I went to used “tyro” eftpos. I think this Good Food Restaurant gift card only works in eligible restaurants, as per the list on their website…
That is strange. There have been reports of people successfully using the TCN Good Food gift cards at restaurants not on their website for years. TCN even told me directly that it’s a merchant category gift card, not a restaurant-specific gift card. I will update the article to reflect that this may not be the case anymore.
Just went to Pepper Lunch and to a Cafe today and the card worked. So it seems to be all good now!
(Maybe it didn’t work on the day I bought it cos it may take up to 24h to properly activate?)
Does anyone know how to pay ATO bills higher than $500 work with the EFTPOS cards? Do we have to tell the post office that we are only paying $500 and not the whole amount?
For the TCN cards with a fixed value, you are only eligible to 20 X points per day on 2 cards only. You can buy 10 cards per day but you are awarded 20 X points on 2 cards only.
What makes you say that? The terms and conditions are very clear that you can earn 20x points on up to ten fixed value cards per day per Everyday Rewards account.
I tried to use the EFTPOS gift card at several places including dentist, tradies and restaurants, and acceptance was variable. All of the card machines could physically accept magstripe swipe cards and the machine or sign on the shop showed the eftpos logo.
Sometimes it worked, other times it just said “card failed” even though I tried it several times, and the machine subsequently worked with swiping my normal bank card. Other times it told me to insert the card, which is not possible as it has no chip. It even failed at Kmart.
I need to do a shein order. Max is $40 on the Party cards. Can I buy 4x $40 and redeem them all at once?
Per the TCN website, “Limit of 1 SHEIN gift card code per transaction”. The TCN Shop is available in a $100 denomination at Woolworths and it also works as Shein so you could buy one of those instead.
Has anyone ever used a prepaid eftpos card, Visa etc… overseas?
1. Using the actual card internationally and getting whatver exchhange rate the card gives
2. Used the cards to then put money on a travel card i.e the wise card?
Even if it is supported it’s almost never a good idea to use a gift card overseas due to the currency conversion fees, risk and inconvenience. As for using one to load a travel card, this is unlikely to work in almost every case as they always block those sorts of transactions.
Are the dates inclusive? Ends on the 29th of October. Does that mean that the offer is valid today?
That’s correct. You can still buy these cards today.
