Is this a good offer?
Between the small number of points, better alternatives and problematic purchasing process, it’s hard for us to recommend this offer to anyone.
For example, if you’re using your Everyday Rewards points to save on your shop then a $350 gift card purchased during this offer would earn you $12.50 worth of points. You could save more money upfront just by purchasing a Woolworths gift card for 4% off via the free 7Rewards app.
If you’re converting to Qantas points, it’s arguably not the worst value if you’re going to redeem them on reward flights. But with a maximum earn of just 1,250 Qantas points, why bother?
The Everyday Gifting store in the Everyday Rewards app is also extremely unreliable. For its entire existence it has been fraught with errors that typically only emerge during the final stage of the transaction process, forcing you to start over again and again..
Even if you do manage to successfully purchase a gift card, the points are not forthcoming. It generally takes several weeks after the end of the promotion for the points to be credited and often they don’t arrive at all, forcing you to waste half an hour on the phone with Everyday Rewards.
If you could do with a few more Qantas points and don’t mind the wait (and potential hassle of chasing them up), this offer could be for you. However, we’d encourage most people to give it a miss.
