Earn 2,000 Flybuys points on $100 and $250 Coles Mastercard gift cards at Coles. Thankfully, Coles is back to offering 2,000 points on these cards after curiously halving the amount of points in last month’s Mastercard promotion.
It should still be possible to use these Mastercards to purchase most types of gift cards at Woolworths. That could be handy if you were wanting to buy some of the cards that earn 20x Everyday Rewards points at Woolworths this week and double dip on points.
Here are the details:
- Available from Wed 20 Mar to Tue 26 Mar 2024.
- Only available in-store at Coles.
- Limit of five gift cards per Flybuys account.
- $5 purchase fee on $100 card, $7 fee on $250 card.
- This offer is open to everyone and does not require activation.
How do I take advantage of this offer?
Receiving these bonus points is as simple as scanning your Flybuys card when purchasing one or multiple of these cards at Coles between the aforementioned dates. Unlike Everyday Rewards points, Flybuys points generally don’t appear in your account until around 5pm on the day following your purchase.
Note that both of the card denominations included in this offer received the same fixed bonus of 2,000 points so you should really only purchase the $100 cards. Buying five of these cards will earn you over 10,000 Flybuys points (you also get 1 point per dollar spent) for just $25 in purchase fees.
If you’re using your Flybuys points to save money on your shop, that means you would be paying just $25 to earn over $50 worth of Flybuys Dollars. If you’re converting to Velocity, $25 for 5,000+ Velocity points is fantastic value at under half a cent per point.
How many points will I earn?
On top of the 2,000 bonus points, you’ll also earn 1 Flybuys point per dollar spent on the gift cards.

Can I use these card to pay for ATO fee
Yes, or at least you could as recently as a few weeks ago.
If I purchase these cards then use them to buy my groceries from Coles, do I then get another point per $1 spent on my grocery purchase?
Yes. Paying with a gift card does not affect your ability to earn points.
Can we use the mastercard overseas? Will there be any foreign transaction fee? Thanks
Yes 3% normally
Plus what I would imagine are poor FX rates (worth another 3%+)
I have flybuys accounts and shared to my partner, which we are having different flybuys card number but we can both see the shared points on each side. Are we still able to earn 5 cards for each of us?
You would need separate accounts to each buy five gift cards and earn points on them.
This card can be used like normal visa card , right ? I can use it to buy in woolworths ?
Correct. You shouldn’t have any trouble using it at Woolworths for the vast majority of purchases.
Has anyone brought one Coles Mastercard and then used that to buy the 2nd one, and then that one to buy the 3rd one and so on. So that it only costs $100 + $25 activation = $125 for five cards i.e. 10,000 points. Would that work?
It doesn’t work anymore, unfortunately.
Is this offer also available in W.A. ?
Yes.
Can these cards be used for online purchases too?
They can indeed. One thing to keep in mind is that very few online retailers allow you to split payments across multiple Visas/Mastercards so you very likely won’t be able to use several of these cards for one purchase. Depending on where you intend to use the card, there may be a way around this, though.
Just be careful checking the balance of these online. I would use the phone only.
I was scammed back in January with a $250 one. Still in dispute
Any chance to transfer card balance to bank account? Through PayPal or Withdraw from ATM?
