Earn 10x Everyday Rewards points per dollar spent on $50, $100 and $25-500 Vanilla Mastercard gift cards at Woolworths. You can use Mastercard gift cards almost anywhere Mastercard is accepted, both in-store and online.
Loading $500 onto one of the $25-500 Vanilla Mastercards would see you earn 5,000 Everyday Rewards points for a purchase fee of just $7.95. That’s either $25 worth of Everyday Rewards Dollars or 2,500 Qantas points depending on what you’ve chosen as your rewards preference.
Here are the details:
- Runs from Wed 20 Nov to Tue 26 Nov 2024.
- Only available in-store at Woolworths.
- For variable load $25-500 gift cards, a limit of two per day.
- For fixed value $50 and $100 gift cards, a limit of five per day.
- $5.95-7.95 purchase fees apply.
- This offer is open to everyone and does not require activation.
How it works
All you have to do is scan your Everyday Rewards card when buying any of these Vanilla Mastercard gift cards at Woolworths between 20 Nov and 26 Nov 2024. Make sure you don’t accidentally buy Visa or Eftpos gift cards as this offer is just on Mastercards.
The checkout should state how many points you are going to earn on the screen that appears just before you pay. As soon as you’ve paid, the points should immediately credit to your Everyday Rewards account.
This offer is available Australia-wide and will be found in the Woolworths 20 Nov catalogue for your region. It won’t be advertised in your app and you don’t need to activate anything.
Vanilla Mastercard gift cards are functionally identical to Coles Mastercards if you’ve ever used those before. They can be used in-store and online, though you cannot add them to your mobile wallet (for some reason they seem to work with Google Pay, though).
Swipe your card and then select Credit when paying with a Vanilla Mastercard in-person. If you’re prompted to enter a PIN, whatever you input the first time becomes that card’s PIN for any subsequent transactions you make with it.
As a general rule, it’s a good idea to use prepaid Mastercard and Visa gift cards like these sooner rather than later as the longer you leave one sitting idle, the higher the chance criminals may correctly guess your card’s details and drain its balance (this is what’s known as a BIN attack).
Also, check your gift cards after you buy them to ensure that they haven’t been physically tampered with. Common signs of tampering include scratched off numbers and missing security codes. Compromised gift cards can be replaced or refunded but it’s often a slow and tedious process.
These bonus points offers on prepaid gift cards are always highly popular so make sure you go to Woolworths first thing Wednesday if you want to stand the best chance of finding some.
The best value card
The only Mastercard that’s really worth buying here is the $25-500 card loaded with the maximum of $500 (or thereabouts). The $50 and $100 cards have slightly lower purchase fees but they only earn a fraction of the points.
Gift card | Purchase fee | EDR points earned | Cost per EDR point |
$50 Mastercard | $5.95 | 500 | 1.2 cents ❌ |
$100 Mastercard | $5.95 | 1,000 | 0.6 cents ❌ |
$25-500 Mastercard (loaded with $500) | $7.95 | 5,000 | 0.2 cents ✅ |

ah shit, here we go again
What about the Airbnb gift cards?! I’m still waiting on these… haha
The last offer on Airbnb gift cards was in February. Woolworths and other stores have had plenty of opportunities to run offers on Airbnb gift cards since then but none of them have. I think those days are behind us, sadly.
Ohh no, I have been patiently waiting for Airbnb GC promotion too as I have a big trip coming up next year. Hopefully it will come in the next few weeks 🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽
But the post says they can be used online, right? We can’t use on airbnb?
The issue with using them for something like Airbnb is that they don’t let you pay using multiple credit/debit cards. The best way to use these gift cards for Airbnb would be to use them to buy Airbnb’s own gift cards somewhere like Coles (so you get an extra 1x Flybuys point per dollar) and then add those gift cards to your Airbnb account.
NOOOOOO I was really hoping it to be JB, but I guess there is always next week 🙁
Is these cards are better or coles mastercard which will be in on sale from tommorow are better ??
My opinion is that this one is better. We pay $7.95 for 5000 points, which means 0.159 cents per point. With Coles, we pay $5 for 2000 points, which is 0.25 cents per point.
The thing is, I can use TCN etfpos card to buy Coles MasterCard, and I got those etfpos card from Woolworths for the same deal ($7.95 for 5000 points). This makes me rush to Coles tomorrow.
For someone who collects both Velocity and Qantas points both offers are equally good. However, Coles do a much better job of stocking their Mastercards compared to Woolworths so for that reason alone I’d say the Coles offer is the “better” one. I have no doubt in my mind that I’ll find five $100 Coles Mastercards tomorrow but there’s a good chance I’ll go home empty handed when this Woolworths offer starts next week.
Disappointed to go past 3 Coles’ this morning to find 1x $100 Mastercard gift card -_-
Did you ask staff if they can check for you? Often they have additional stock.
Yeah, unfortunately copped the “whatever’s on the shelf”
Can you use TCN Eftpos cards purchased from woolies to buy this one?
No. At Woolworths you can’t use TCN Eftpos or Vanilla Visa/Mastercard gift cards to purchase more of those same types of gift cards.
Are these the same cards as this promo?
does this mean we can add our own pin?
Yes, those are the same cards. As mentioned above, whatever PIN you enter the first time becomes the card’s PIN for that and any subsequent transactions.
Can these be added to paypal?
Hi,
i wanna say i just can find $50 or $100 master gift card in some woolworhts around my living area . How can i know which shop is selling $25-$500 one ?
Can I use the mastercard coles to buy those?
No.
Could I use the Vanilla Mastercard gift cards to go to Big W and purchase the apple gift cards, for when they come onto Bonus offer?
I haven’t seen anyone try that specific purchase combination but my guess is that it would work. It’s always possible that it won’t, though.
Good news! I tried the above combination, it worked perfectly!
Can you use these cards overseas? Am
Wanting to use for Bali holiday speeding.
You can but it’s a bad idea, especially considering the 2.5% conversion fee. Prepaid gift cards are best used domestically.
Can I use coles Mastercard gift cards to buy the woolworths Mastercard gift card ?
No.
I would be trying to buy these cards to buy flights online. Since the cards are $500 max, do we know whether a flight website will allow me to use multiple cards to book flights, if they are more than $500?
Most online merchants do not allow you to split payments across multiple cards. For large purchases these gift cards are usually best used in-store.
Would I be able to use these gift cards to top up my rentpay balance to pay for rent?
Can I use these gift cards to buy uber eats gift card at Big W. Cheers.
Probably. I’d be surprised if that didn’t work but there’s always a chance.
Typical both stores this morning no $25-500 Mastercard on the shelf even though they were there a couple of days ago. General consensus from stores is “people come in the day before and take them and then come back on the day. They should have them behind the counter. Poor experience.
My local store yesterday had one variable card and plenty of the $50 and $100 cards. Maybe they should announce the offers the day of.
Can you buy 2 x $500 in one day in separate transactions ? Or does it have to be 1 transaction?
It doesn’t matter if you buy them together or separately.
A number of Woolworths stores I have visited today don’t have the variable gift cards. Woolworths can’t organise anything without it being dodgy. Yes, some will say that’s up to the distributor. Not correct, it’s Woolworths’ promotion and Woolworths is responsible for its stores.
could i use this card to buy wws gift card?
It depends where you’re buying it from.
Can i use them to buy woolworths gift card online?
I tried just now but didn’t work, is there anything I’m doing wrong?
You can use prepaid Mastercard gift cards to buy Woolworths gift cards but only via PayPal.
I tried to add the Vanilla MC giftcard to my Woolworths Reward Wallet to buy the Woolies Giftcard 6x point + 3% discount – but not allowing me : (
My local Woolworths says they are still waiting for supply
Does anyone know whether you can use these to pay for bills? I asked Australia post and they said they aren’t accepted for postbill pay? Any other bill types where they can be used?
I used them to pay rates via Postbill pay no problems
I found 7 Vanilla Mastercard gift cards in a store far from my house. Can I use 2 gift cards and keep the remaining 5 to use during the other days of the promotion, 2 per day, and load them in a store other than the one where I found the gift cards?! Would this be considered theft or not, thinking about it since it is difficult to find them where I live? Thanks for your opinion.
Yes, taking an item from a store without paying for it would be considered theft.
Good luck with that you thief.
This is actually a poor act on your part and making the situation worse, i suspect this is why half of us get zero cards whilst others get plenty, that is a dogs act, play the game as it is intended.
Trying a big points run and need a bit of advice please. Can I get 2 x variable load ($500) and 10 x $100 cards per day? Or is the limit one or the other only? Thanks in advance
You can buy up to two variable load and five fixed value cards per day. The issue is that the $100 cards aren’t really worth buying.
Thank you for confirming! I realise it’s not ideal but to achieve PCP in 5 days I can’t see any other way to quickly accumulate 17,000 points? I’ve achieved green tier and all other offers will take too long to be credited. I feel I’m so close I’d be crazy not to, even at a cost of $60 – or am I mad?
Should clarify – I have been purchasing the max 2 x variable load each day already. The 17,000 will be the shortfall after I exhausted my other options.
Or perhaps you could purchase the 17000 points with cash (via QF), but you might need to double check if those purchased points can be counted towards PCP.
Does this offer end at midnight Tuesday?
If I go after work 6pm ish on Tuesday and get two more cards would that be ok? (For those wondering my store, has stock)
You can still buy on Tuesday evening. The new promotions start on Wednesday.
Yes, I brought two cards about an hour ago
