10x Everyday Rewards points on TCN Eftpos gift cards at Woolworths

Thanks to an anonymous source for letting us know about this promotion early.

Earn 10x Everyday Rewards points per dollar spent on $50, $100 and $20-500 variable load TCN Eftpos gift cards at Woolworths. These promotions are very popular as you can use Eftpos gift cards almost anywhere physical Eftpos payments are accepted.

For each TCN Eftpos gift card you buy loaded with $500, you’ll pay a $7.95 purchase fee to earn either $25 worth of Everyday Rewards Dollars or 2,500 Qantas points.

Here are the details:

  • Runs from Wed 31 Jul to Tue 6 Aug 2024.
  • Only available in-store at Woolworths.
  • Limit of five $50 or $100 cards per day which can be bought across multiple transactions.
  • Limit of two $20-500 variable load cards per day which must be purchased in a single transaction each day.
  • Gift card purchase fees apply ($5.95-7.95).
  • This offer is open to everyone and does not require activation.

How it works

Buy a TCN Eftpos gift card at Woolworths between 31 Jul and 6 Aug 2024 and scan your Everyday Rewards card and you’ll earn 10x points per dollar spent (excluding purchase fees). The points should be immediately credited to your account upon payment.

Make sure you don’t buy the Merindah-Gunya or Luxury Eftpos gift cards as those won’t earn any points. The only cards you should be buying are the Eftpos gift cards where the top half of the packaging is silver, gold or bronze.

This offer will only be advertised in the Woolworths catalogue and possibly also via some in-store posters at the gift card display (if staff can be bothered to put them up!). It’s open to all Everyday Rewards members so you don’t need to activate or “boost” anything to take advantage of it.

If you’re trying to buy two of the $500 cards in one transaction and it won’t let you add the second one, you can either ask if a manager or supervisor can approve the purchase or, alliteratively, load one of the cards with $499 or $499.99.

Note that these are Eftpos gift cards so they can’t be used online or for card-not-present transactions like Visa or Mastercard gift cards. You can only use these gift cards by physically swiping them at a payment terminal.

Promotions on prepaid Eftpos gift cards at Woolworths are incredibly popular so expect many stores to sell out quickly. You’ll have the best chance of finding stock at stores in the outer suburbs or regional areas.

The best card to buy

The only gift card worth buying in this promotion is the $20-500, ideally loaded with the maximum of $500. The $50 and $100 cards have slightly cheaper purchase fees but only earn a fraction of the points.

    1. From the article: You can only use these gift cards by physically swiping them at a payment terminal.
      Based on that, probably not.

    1. I did use these the luxury eftpos giftcards to buy 5x $100 mastercard cards at Coles in the last round back in April. Caveats being, that was 3 months ago and the lady at the counter was apprehesive about buying giftcards with giftcards. I have not tried at Woolworths as I have read they 100% dont allow it.

    1. A lot of people reported that they were able to do so during the last Eftpos gift card promotion so I would expect so. Just note that some AusPost staff may not be comfortable with you using a gift card as your payment method.

    1. Yes, they’re available nationwide. You’ll find this particular promotion in the 31 Jul Woolworths catalogue when it comes out on Monday at 5pm AEST.

      1. Unable to find any $500 gift cards on the northern beaches. Been to six different stores from Mona Vale down to Balgowlah. All gone!

    1. They can’t. TCN actually sell a digital version of their Eftpos gift card that you can add to your mobile wallet but for whatever reason they don’t allow you to do the same thing with the physical cards.

    1. They must be physically swiped (you can’t use them online) so if you are able to pay your ATO bill at the post office then it may be possible.

    1. Previously that has been possible but there’s always a chance the rules could change so have a backup plan for your Eftpos gift cards if that’s your intention.

  2. Went to four stores this morning, all within an hour of opening. The shelves were fully stocked – but only with the $50 cards 🙁

  3. went to five stores in Brisbane today after 7am opening. No variables cards only $50’s and $100’s. Two shops looked behind display and no variables cards in stock. Very disappointing

  4. Tried 3 stores in Toowoomba yesterday, $50 and $100 well stocked, not a variable card in sight at any of them.

  5. Yup same story. Brisbane – went to 6 different stores, none variable cards in stock. Only $50 and $100. What a waste of promo if they don’t even stock the cards!

    1. If you could pay in-person or at Australia Post then possibly yes but I can’t say for sure as I don’t live in Brisbane.

  6. Bought a $500 card today. Can I use this to purchase 5 x $100 mastercard with 20 x points that’s starting at Cole’s tomorrow ?

    1. It worked in May so probably. Note that you’ll need to go to a standard checkout and ask them if you can pay $500 on one card and the the remaining $25 on another. Split payments aren’t possible when purchasing gift cards at Coles self-checkouts.
