1,500 Flybuys points on Visa gift cards at Coles

Earn 1,500 bonus Flybuys points on $100 and $250 Vanilla Visa gift cards in-store at Coles. These gift cards can be spent almost anywhere Visa is accepted.

If you bought five of the $100 Visa gift cards, you would earn a total of 8,000 Flybuys points (worth $40 or convertible to 4,000 Velocity points) for $29.75 in purchase fees.

Here are the details:

  • Runs from Wed 11 Feb to Tue 17 Feb 2026
  • Only available in-store at Coles
  • Limit of five gift cards per Flybuys account
  • $5.95 fee on $100 card, $7.50 fee on $250 card
  • Excludes Birthday and Thank You Visa gift cards
  • This offer is open to everyone and does not require activation
  • Points are usually credited in 1-3 days

How it works

Scan your Flybuys card when you purchase $100 or $250 Vanilla Visa gift cards in-store at Coles between 11 Feb and 17 Feb 2026 and you will collect 1,500 bonus points on each card.

There’s a purchase limit of five gift cards per Flybuys account (five in total, not five per day) so if you require more than five then you’ll need to scan another Flybuys card.

Flybuys points are not credited immediately but they should appear in your account within 1-3 days. Sometimes you receive the standard points first and then the bonus points arrive a few days later.

Both the $100 and $250 Visa gift cards receive 1,500 bonus points so the $100 cards will be the more popular option as they don’t require you to spend as much.

Whilst this promotion is far better than Woolworths’ awful bonuses on Visa gift cards, it’s still a clear step down from the 2,000 points offers that Coles often run on Mastercard gift cards.

No one wants to see 1,500 points become the new 2,000 points so unless you could really do with the points it’s probably not worth putting too much effort into this offer.

Warning: Open up and check each Visa gift card immediately after scanning it at the checkout to ensure that it hasn’t been tampered with. Look for scratched off digits on the card number and CVV. See here for more information about this scam.

  1. Can you use these cards like the Coles Mastercards. ?
Whilst I don’t think it’s a good offer, I am 5000 points short for my next reward flight booking.

    1. More or less. There are some places that accept the Mastercards but not these Visas but for the most part they’ll be treated the same. If you’re just using them in-store at Coles, Woolworths etc you shouldn’t notice any real difference.

I would recommend trying to buy the ones with a 2030 or later expiry date as they support PINs (whichever four digit number you enter the first time when prompted becomes the PIN) whereas the ones with a 2029 or earlier expiry only support signature verification which can be annoying.

    1. It’s worked previously so I would assume so. Just keep in mind that one day they may decide to close that loophole so have a backup plan for the Visa gift cards or only try it with a single card first.

  2. Can I buy these, get the 1500 points. Then use that card to buy another one and get another 1500 points and just keep doing that?

      1. You can in this instance. You just can’t buy this gift card with a Coles gift card for example. This Visa one can be used anywhere. I would use self-checkout though so the attendants don’t see since it’s technically against their T&Cs but it doesn’t automatically flag on the system when you check out.

  3. Hello, can these be used to triple-dip via:
    1) Buying the Coles Visa – get Flybuys
    2) Using the Coles VISA to buy Everyday Wish cards on QANTAS marketplace – get FF points
    3) Using Everyday Wish card for grocery shopping etc. – get Everday rewards points (converting to FF points)

    Is it possible?
I’m not sure if the math adds up to be better than using QANTAS pay on the marketplace shop when buying the WISH gift cards and getting extra FF points but I’m guessing ‘yes’.

    1. I don’t believe these Visa gift cards have ever worked on Qantas Marketplace, unfortunately.

  4. Heads up.. appears to have been some changes as these have not been accepted paying my strata bill through DEFT

    1. I don’t believe so. They might work for ATO payments by phone but I haven’t tested that myself.

Vanilla Visa cards cannot be added to PayPal — ever.
PayPal blocks Vanilla Visa cards at the security‑policy level.

This is a known, permanent restriction.

  5. These dont seem to work to pay centrelink debt. Previously have been able to use mastercard gift cards however

  6. There is a 5 card limit per account. If I have another person pooling to my flybuys (not velocity pooling), would scanning their card be eligible for a further 5 card bonuses?
